Why use an accountant for probate?
When the ICAEW announced that Chartered Accountants were able to offer probate services we saw this as an opportunity to provide an additional service to our clients that complements the work we already do.
As accountants, the task of gathering, processing and recording financial information is what we do and have always done. We have processes, technology and efficient staffing structures in place to do this in the most cost effective and timely way possible. Dealing with probate and administration is a very natural extension of what we have always done.
Cost effective and approachable
Using our existing working processes and applying them to probate and estate administration gives significant cost savings over existing providers. In addition, where we provide these service for the personal representatives deceased clients, there are additional savings because we already have a lot of the information we need to begin the process of applying for probate and administering their estate. As accountants, we are used to seeing our clients year on year. We develop long standing relationships and to do this, we need to be responsive approachable and cost effective. We think these qualities are what is needed when someone has lost a loved one and wants guidance and reassurance as well as professionalism and technical expertise.
