We offer a personal and flexible service. Our aim is to take some of the administration burden away from those left behind by helping in whatever way to whatever level they wish.
Some clients will want to do as much as possible themselves to keep costs down and may simply wish for us to oversee things for their peace of mind. Other clients would much rather have us deal with all the probate work including being an executor. This could involve informing the relevant institutions, completing estate accounts, gathering and liquidating assets, paying creditors and ultimately distributing the estate in accordance with the will.
We are happy to act at either end of this spectrum or somewhere in between. We think this flexibility makes us very different from the usual offering in the market.
We have many years of experience carrying out tax calculations for and dealing with the administration of estates alongside solicitors. The new licencing arrangements via the ICAEW now allow us to apply for probate and work directly with the executors.
If the deceased was a client of Lithgow Perkins LLP, we are likely to hold most of the financial information and background details needed for administering the estate. We often act for the estates of people who were not clients themselves but whose relatives are existing clients and/or where our existing client is the executor.
We see the ability to undertake probate and administration work as a valuable service to our existing clients. Their feedback tells us that there are significant cost savings over the prices quoted from other providers. They also tell us that our timescales for completing matters are far more responsive.
Whilst our main reason for obtaining a licence to carry out probate was to help existing clients, we are more than happy to offer our services to those who do not have an existing link with us and give them the benefit of a no nonsense, cost effective approach.
Our team is made up of experienced accountants, so we are confident that our approach to gathering the financial information, calculating what tax is due and administering the estate is quicker and more efficient, therefore keeping costs to a minimum.
